StarBugs以创新英文为特色。每类课，都很难解释。有很多误解。这种过程很有趣。不过一个月过去了，新的周游列国（world cultures) 课也出了些眉目。从这周的课程中，也许父母们会体会一些不同的元素。

CLASS TOPICS

1.The First Americans!美国的创始人- 印第安人
This lesson will introduce  the children to the first Americans. They will learn what the first Americans looked like, how they dressed and how they lived. We will use objects in nature and try to guess how the Native Americans used them. Then, we will learn how to play a Native American game.

孩子们将了解美国创始人的外貌,穿着和他们的生活方式。我们尝试运用各种天然的工具并猜测美国印第安人是怎样使用工具的. 当然印第安人的游戏是对孩子们最具吸引力的。有些他们可能已经知道了。不过温故而知新。我们的课并没有有的家长想的那样难！

2.The Arrival of the Pilgrims （这个词可不好翻，不过他和感恩节的关系可不小）
Using an activity, we will review more about the concept of independence. We will talk about the Pilgrims and why they wanted to leave England to live independently. This lesson will help the children begin to learn the meanings of the following words: Community, Freedom, Sacrifice, Foreigner,Explore.

上节课我们在游戏中学习了独立一词，这节课我们看看美国的 Pilgrims 为什么想离开英国去独立。当然我们是用游戏的方式。除了Pilgrims  和independence ，孩子们还可以领悟以下词语的含义： Community, Freedom, Sacrifice, Foreigner,Explore. 都不是很容易的词，但是我们美国人可经常挂在嘴边的。

3.Make  Bandana Art（ Bandana 是什么）
In this lesson, the children will learn the colors of the American flag and what the Stars and Stripes represent. They will then make their own American Flag Bandana to take home.

美国人的爱国和我们不同。有的时候他们会穿戴国旗。了解美国国旗的颜色和上面的星代表的含义。他们将制作自己的美国国旗。  我们旨在让孩子了解美国文化，希望家长注意孩子在中国环境下，适度展示他们的作品。

4.Storytime! “I Am America”
We will continue reading the book “I am America” and discuss more of the words and characteristics of the children in the book.

我们会继续阅读《我是美国人》 . 《我是美国人》这本书可谓至简至难。简单的无人不会，可是很多人在没有上下文的情况下，根本无法理解。我们的父母都尝试过了。不过孩子可不这样想。我们继续解读美国。

5.Create your own American Song
This activity helps take the children through different types of American music. They will listen to Rock, Blues, Country and Soul music. They will guess the instruments they hear. Then, they will create there own song out of the music they hear.

音乐是注释一个民族不可缺少的部分。这节活动让孩子们聆听不同风格的美国音乐，用不同风格的美国乐器，创作他们自己的音乐.

6.Learn about American Foods
The children will learn about different staple American food and where they are eaten in America. We will then eat a favorite American treat.

食物这一节是孩子们的最爱，孩子们会体验美国的不同风味的食物了解他们的出处。当然，品尝是不可缺少的。.

7.American Expressions
Last, the children will learn some American body language and expressions. After learning, they will use and review these expressions in a fun game.

语言不可缺少的一部分是肢体语言，最后，孩子们会学习一些美国式的肢体语言和表达。游戏是展示他们学习成果的最佳方式。

真的很好，特别是我这个外行看起来，不过你能否多开些班？周五我们3:30放学，从浦西过去会来不及？但是真的很想参加.

这次和老师初次合作.只是一个班.效果好,可能成为StarBugs的一部分.寒假应该有的.1-3 年级的课比较丰富.因为自己孩子的原因,和老师在思想层面沟通的比较好.

老师非常喜欢我们的不教英文,用英文学习的理念.因为这样把老师还原成有思想的人,而不是录音机.

浦西开班的事谈过很久,但找不到盈利模式, 只能放一下.其实现在让我从头做,我也没有激情了.守好浦东的这个摊子再说.

人和人的交流不是一件简单的事..

是啊，我就是被这本书打倒了。女儿缠着让我讲，可是我却无从讲起。.

1 Thanksgiving, The Holiday of Togetherness
This lesson will introduce the children to the American Holiday called Thanksgiving. We will talk about why Thanksgiving is so important to Americans and whether we have celebrations like this in China.
本节课将给孩子们介绍美国的感恩节。我们将一起讨论为什么感恩节对于美国人来说如此重要，以及在中国是否也有同样的节日。

2 The Togetherness Games
Thanksgiving is a holiday that teaches diverse Americans how to live together, share together and have fun together. In this activity, we will use two games (one modern game and one historical American game) to learn how to have fun while we work together.
感恩节是一个让不同的美国人学会怎样去一起生活，一起分享快乐的节日。在这个活动中，我们通过两个游戏（包括一个现代游戏和一个美国历史游戏）来学会在一起合作中分享快乐。

3 A Very Thankful Turkey
In this lesson, the children will learn the colors of the American flag and what the Stars and Stripes represent. They will then make their own American Flag Bandana to take home.

5 Make an American Taco
Using what they learned last week about American food, the children will use ingredients and spices grown in different American States, put them together and make a tasty snack.
你知道Taco是什么吗？我们从城市超市？购置自美国各州的原料成分和调味品。结合在前一周所学的有关美国食物的知识，孩子们制作原汁原味的可口的小吃。

6 American Jokes
No matter where you may come from, making someone laugh is a great way to make a new friend. In this activity, the children will learn a few easy-to-understand American jokes that they can share with their parents, teachers and maybe even a new foreign friend...
不管你来自何方，只要你能让别人开怀大笑，这也是结交新朋友的一个好方法。在这次活动中，孩子们将学习简单易懂的美国笑话，他们可以和父母，老师，甚至是新的外国朋友一起分享。

7 Homework
AT home, kindly look at the following “Thanksgiving” book with your child. Next week, we will be discussing the following words from the book:
请在家里和孩子一起读有关感恩节的书。下周我们将讨论书中的以下词语：

是的，主要是听听大家的心声，共同探讨一下Sheila老师未来的课程安排。

我实在太累了，所以不准备再扩大招生了，Joanna和Sheila现有的班级也都满了，所以实行排队制度，出去一个老生空出名额来，排在第一等候位的孩子才可以递补进来。

Ginny老师的World Culture Class也办的很有特色，深得孩子们的喜爱。所以正在犹豫是否从寒假开始由她自主招生。这可能是唯一有空余名额的课程设置了。.

12/22 日的最后一次课延到一月份。通报内部情况。
家长相互认识，共商教师圣诞礼物。
寒假无课，新课从二月中开始。讨论春季课程安排。
孩子们进步很快，以后的课程是每6周一本书。（高年级）
确立StarBugs管理方式，淡化个人作用，尝试家长互助制度。.
