牐牳行簧系郏我们上个礼拜在这里思想到,耶稣基督是我们信心创始成终的主。那我们仰望他,我们思想他。「你们要思想这位耶稣基督」,在第三章已经提到了,你们要耶稣基督。耶稣基督是大祭司,耶稣基督是使者,为使者,为大祭司的耶稣基督,是我们思想的一个对象,是我们效法的一个模样,是我们信心创始成终的主。所以他在地上的生活也成为我们的表率,成为我们最大的鼓舞。在基督一生的中间,他所受的是什么?受的是苦难,受的是逼迫,受的是轻看,受的是误会,受的是藐视,受的是鞭伤,受的是忧患之子,常经痛苦的经历。所以我们在我们生活的过程中间,特别为神的旨意受苦的时候,真正给我们最大力量的,不是世人而来的安慰,是基督的榜样,基督在我们前头走过的路线。有一句话说Are you afraid of your morrow? Jesus said, I have been there. I was there.你惧怕你前面的道路吗?耶稣说「我曾经经过了那些事。」对你不知的未来,是对基督已经经历的过去。我再讲一次,对我们未知的未来,对基督是已经经历的过去。大家说「对我未知的未来,对基督是已经经历的过去。」所以你一生中间所要面对的,所要经历的最可怕的时刻,是没有一件事在基督的榜样和生命中间未曾经历过的事。这样,没有一件事是,大到需要让你害怕,没有一件事大到需要让你挂虑。耶稣说「你们可以放心,你们不要胆怯,你们不要挂虑,因为我已经胜过了世界。你们在我里面有平安,在世界你们有苦难」(约翰福音:16章33节)
牐犛幸淮挝以诜苫上,旁边一个人,这个人不吃。第二餐再不吃。后来第三餐叫一个vegetable food. 就是素餐,所以我就奇怪了,我说「你到底是不是佛教徒?」他说「不是。」「那你是什么人?」「I am a Jew 」我是犹太人。可能他怕飞机上有猪肉,所以他就什么肉都不吃,这样就比较安全了。「哦,原来是一个犹太。」我心里想,很少有机会跟犹太人坐在一起,他又没有办法跑掉的。那我一生又很没有机会,对犹太人传福音。我就心中暗暗高兴,「上帝啊,我这么懒惰到犹太去传道,我也没有机会去,你把他带到我身边来,感谢主!」
牐牭是我一点经验都没有,我要怎么样对犹太人传道呢?我要对他讲些什么呢?我就祷告,就想想想....。我再问一次,「Are you a Jew?」你是犹太人?「Yes, I am a Jew. 」我就对他说,「I appreciate, I respect Jewish people.」我佩服,我很欣赏犹太人。他说「Do you? You respect Jewish people, why? 」为什么你欣赏,佩服犹太人?我就一连把十多个名字念出来。从哲学家、音乐家、作曲家、科学家....念了。他吓了一跳。「So you really know about Jew.」「I know a little bit.」我说,我懂一点点。「Jewish really contributed a lot to the world, to the modern culture, in music, in politics, in business, in science.」哇!他很高兴。
牐犇忝看斡肴颂嘎郏不要用辩驳。很少人用辩驳赢取人的心,很多人辩胜道理,输掉对象。你要注意,你先尊重他,你先欣赏他,你先看出他的好处。这个叫 evangelism,你要布道嘛!I appreciate, I respect Jewish people, I think your contribution is great in the world. In politics, in music,霍罗维次(Vladimir Horowitz),鲁宾斯坦 (Artur Rubinstein, 1886- )、门德尔颂(Felix Mendelssohn, 1809-1847)....,很多的人名提出来以后,啊,就对我开始 open his heart,他心打开来了。
牐犇敲矗他说「What do you study?」我说「I study so many things, not only specific one field, but many fields.」在哲学里面,我看到你们的门德尔颂 Moses Mendelssohn,在音乐里面我看到你们的Felix Mendelssohn,看到你们许多最好的演奏家。而在科学里面,你们有爱因斯坦 (Albert Einstein, 1879-1955),你们还有许多很伟大的人。谈完了以后,他就开始提到,犹太人伟大的地方他是怎么样,怎么样,他就把一些知识告诉我,是我过去不大知道的。谈过了差不多一个多钟头,我就算时间,他什么时候要下飞机,还有多少机会。这个calculate 很重要,不然他一下去没有机会,就永远没有见面了。这个已经是很久以前的事情。
牐犇俏易詈罂词奔涞搅耍我就开始,说「I know so many great Jewish people, who do you think the greatest in the world history? 」在世界历史中间你认为最伟大的犹太人是哪一个?他马上回答,「absolutely Moses.」摩西是最伟大的犹太人,最伟大的贡献者是摩西。「You see, the law, universally recognize is based on Moses ten commandments given by God. 」我说,「Great! Moses is very great, really great. 」你要赞成他啰,摩西很伟大。然后他很高兴,我再加一句,「What about Jesus?」我问他,像耶稣呢?「No, no, no, no...., Jesus is not a Jew.」耶稣不是犹太人。他一讲这句话。我说「Do you mean business? You really think Jesus is not a Jew? 」「Yea, according to the culture wise, he is not a Jew. He is a betrayer of Jewish culture. 」他是犹太文化的背叛者,他是文化的挑战者,背叛者,不忠于犹太文化的人。
牐犇阒道二十世纪有一个大神学家,叫作李察_尼布尔(Richard H. Niebuhr,1894-1962),这个人写一本书,这本书叫作 Christ and Culture.《基督与文化》,在他的序言里面,他讲一句话语。他说「犹太人深深认为,基督的存在,就是犹太文化一定要毁灭的原因。如果要保存犹太文化继续下去,一定要毁灭基督。所犹太人跟基督就誓不两立,不共戴天,结果他们为了保存犹太文化继续在历史上可以传扬下去,他们选择了另外一条路,把耶稣基督钉在十字架。所以耶稣基督到世界上来,不但自己的人,自己的地方不认识他。犹太人抗拒他,不接受他。
牐牭彼们最后一次问他说「你告诉我们,你是上帝的儿子不是?」(参:马太福音:26 章 63 节;路加福音:22 章 70 节)当他们问这一句话的时候,耶稣基督破例,他从完全缄默,完全不讲话,现在第一次开口回答说「你说的是。」为什么完全不讲话的基督,突然间要回答呢?为什么问他「你做什么?」他不睬。「你讲过这个话吗?」他不回答。「你是上帝的儿子吗?」他马上回答,这是基督教的精髓。请你注意Christianity does not depend on what you say, what you do, but who you are.基督徒的见证不是从言语,也不是从行为。基督徒的见证是从你的本身存在的位份,「你是谁」来见证其它的。
牐犖也皇且蛭我会讲一大篇的道我就叫作「传道人」,我不是因为我会做很多伟大的事情,我叫作上帝的仆人」。我是上帝的仆人,因为我「是」上帝的仆人,我的本质是上帝的仆人,我的身份是上帝的仆人,我的呼召是上帝的仆人,我所做的工,才为了表达我的身份,才把我的存在,我的本质把它带出来。耶稣基督是如此,所以保罗不是说「我们深知我们所信的是什么」,我们没有说「我们深知我们所信的是什么理论。」我们没有说「我们深知我们所信的是哪一种行为的模范。」我们深知我们所信的是什么?---- 谁(参:提摩太后书:1 章12 节)。I know whom I believe.不是What I believe. What kind of theory, What kind of knowledge I believe. I know whom I believe.我深知我所信的是谁,就是这个位格,就是这个存在,就是这个身份,是基督教的要害所在。
牐燬how me, perform one sign, a miracle before me. 耶稣基督连回答都不回答。耶稣基督不睬他,因为在这样的状态中间,这个人没有资格,所以耶稣不回答他一句话。你看见彼拉多还听见耶稣回答了一句话。祭司长还听见耶稣回答了一句话,「你说的是。」但是这个不象样的希律王,耶稣一生中间曾经责备到最厉害的世人,就是这个人,他是一只狐狸(参:路加福音:13 章 32 节)。他没有义务在一个诡诈的人面前表演神迹,为他做一些有关神的作为,神的权柄所能做的事情。耶稣不回答他。
牐犖矣幸槐臼椋这本书是大概三十年前有一个人送给我的,叫作Christ and Fine Arts 《基督与艺术》,那这本书有一张图,我没有想象它是这样想画法。它画什么?他画在山的后面,背着山,远远的是正在吹着风的天空。你说「图画吹风你怎么知道呢?」因为那边的树是斜的,整个树尖是斜下来,所以你知道这个山的背后有强风正在吹。那么,前面有一个等候着瞪着眼睛,手这样。那么,这个手好像拿着一把刀一样的,旁边有几个人在那里,正在跟他讨价还价的情形。
