萧律柏有一位前辈,叫皮尔(Norman Vincent Peale或译作罗文彪),他从这人学到“积极思想”,进而发展他的“可能思想”。14 萧的名著《可能!》也是罗文彪为他写序的。已故的皮尔曾是纽约“大理石大学教会”的牧师,该教会有成员五千;他亦在电台主持“生活的艺术”多年;他的《路标杂志》和他的讲章一样,甚受欢迎。
