新加坡的孩子教育都是双语的:英语和华语. 当然他们还有福建话,马来语,广东话等.所以一个孩子会多种语言是"不足为奇"的事情. 是的,他们从幼儿园开始的学校都讲英语的,除非你读的是华校.

重要的,新加坡人的素质很好. 和他们的教育背景有关. 他们从小家庭也给孩子灌输"儒家思想",而"儒家思想"的发源地的我们却早已经忽视了..

Maybe English is only for you who is an adult, not for other kids who live in Shanghai, China. Anyway, it is very important to riase the interests in learning English of kids, especially when they are very young. You have to invoke them  in order to raise them in learning English.   

Frankly speaking, generation keeps changing, requirements for kids are improving accordingly too. No any reward means anything, while it means your kids have got something speacial in learning English.  It proves that your kids have to continue...no ending, only to pursue for the next stop..

"Maybe English is easy only for you who is an adult, not for other kids who live in Shanghai, China"

学校有个外教,每次来学校上课总是带着她那个金发碧眼的女儿(5岁),中文说得可好了~~~她妈妈也会说中文, 孩子被送去这里的幼儿园,每天有很多的时间学习说中文. 可见环境的重要性.

我曾经问过几个来应聘的外教,为何你们要去大学里学中文的CORUSE呢? 他们说如果掌握了中文,以后回去自己的国家,无论是做应聘还是自己做生意,都会是有另外的法码的.

可见中文的在国外的含金量,不亚于在中国的英语..
