Making it scary

Use the adjectives and adverbs to improve the following description of a cemetery at midnight.

While the strong wind sighed gloomily in the old trees,
they quickly walked towards the [terrific graveyard. Gently pushing
open the  wooden gate they tiptoed in. They looked carefully at
the dim writing on the solid gravestones which had become
overgrown with long grass. Pat felt a cool hand on her shoulder.
She suddenly turned and gave a shrill scream. It was then that she saw
that it was her brother who was just as frightedned as she was.
